Welcome to Scan2Plan - Maxillofacial Radiology Center
One of Mumbai’s most advanced imaging centers for the face, teeth, and jaws.
Since its inception, Scan2Plan has been determined to maintain high standards and to lead the way in new technology, thereby providing unlimited imaging possibilities at affordable costs. At Scan2Plan, we utilize the latest state-of-the-art equipment available, which permits the lowest radiation dose possible, while producing clear and highly detailed images. Scan2Plan not only provides access to the very best imaging equipment, but also provides expert diagnostic reporting from a licensed Oral and Maxillofacial Radiologist on every CBCT scan acquired on its patients.
3D - CBCT
Cone Beam CT scans (CBCT Scans) provide high resolution, 3D volumetric images, used in different fields of dentistry allowing for more accurate analysis of bone structure and teeth orientation. The accuracy of a CBCT scan is comparable to medical CT scans but uses a much lower radiation dose but with the added advantage of greater accuracy of bone structures and their orientation. The time for a dental CBCT scan is just twenty seconds.
INDICATIONS OF CBCT
- Measurement of bone height and width
- Relationship of anatomical structures like nerves, vessels, roots, nasal floor and sinus cavities
- Bone quality and long axis of alveolar bone
- 3D visualization of impacted teeth
- Determination of fracture lines
- Assessment of pathology
- Position of 3rd molar and its approximation to Inferior alveolar canal
- Root canal anatomy
- Internal and External resorption
- Accessory/Missed canals
- Vertical root fracture
- Extent of periapical inflammation
- 3D Visualization of Craniofacial component
- Unerupted /Impacted teeth localization
- Skeletal Asymmetry
- Assessment of alveolar crestal bone levels
- Assessment of intrabony defects, furcation involvement, fenestrations, dehiscence
- Post operative evaluation
- Developmental Anomalies
- Osteoarthritis/ Rheumatoid Arthritis
- Fracture assessment of TMJ
- Assessment of pathology
- Mucosal thickening
- Mucosal Cysts
- Cleft Palate Assessment
- Airway assessment
An Orthopantomogram x-ray (OPG x-ray) is a wide-view, panoramic x-ray of the patients upper and law jaw, and associated dentition from root to crown, in a single image – which is not possible with periapical or Bite-wing x-rays.
Indications of OPG
2. LATERAL CEPHALOGRAM
A Cephalometric x-ray (CEPH x-ray) consists of a lateral/side-view x-ray of the face also referred to as Lat CEPH. As with an OPG X-ray a CEPH radiograph is used to study facial bone and soft tissue landmarks and is used in patients being considered for orthodontic treatment.
The heart of our CBCT Center is the latest Dentsply Sirona Orthophos SL . Acknowledged to be the best in its class the Orthophos SL has an outstanding image quality which produces sharp images with minimally low dosage of radiation. The distinctive features of the machine includes unique DCS sensor, MARS (metal artifact reduction sequence) , autopositioning , autopad , optimum FOV etc. Along with unparalleled technology, Scan2PLAN provides complete maxillofacial radiology under one roof.
Scan2Plan has a very contemporary environment with all the modern infrastructure, giving a pleasant and comfortable experience to everyone who walks in.
It is recent development in dental radiology that provides 3Dimensional, high definition and 1:1 images of maxillofacial skeleton. CBCT uses a single rotation for exposure, whereas CT uses multiple rotations. As a result radiation dose in very less in CBCT as compared to CT.
Lower radiation dose than medical CT, Image accuracy due to isotropic voxel, Images available almost immediately on screen, Images can be imported into other software, Decreased scanning time, reduced metallic artefacts and X-ray beam limitation to region of interest.
